Bandipora, Sep 05 (KNS): Academic excellence took centre stage at Islamia Model Secondary School, Garoora, Bandipora, as the institution celebrated Teachers’ Day by honouring former students who qualified for NEET-UG 2026, showcasing a growing legacy of producing doctors and other accomplished professionals.

The school organised a special Achievers’ Felicitation and Appreciation Ceremony, bringing together the school management, teachers, students, alumni and distinguished guests to celebrate the remarkable academic performance of its former students.

Former Education Minister Naeem Akhtar graced the occasion and felicitated the NEET achievers, turning the Teachers’ Day celebrations into a tribute to both academic accomplishment and the teachers who play a pivotal role in shaping the future of students.

Three former students of the institution have qualified NEET-UG 2026, adding to the school’s growing list of medical aspirants who have successfully secured their place in the highly competitive medical entrance examination.

With the latest achievement, around 10 alumni of the school have qualified NEET over the years, a feat the institution says reflects its sustained emphasis on academic discipline, quality teaching and encouragement of students to aim high.

The achievement assumes greater significance for an institution that has steadily expanded its educational footprint in Garoora.

Founded by Syed Mohammad Indrabi, father of former minister Naeem Akhtar, the school began with humble beginnings but gradually developed into an important centre of education for the area. Today, the institution has grown into a high school with around 450 students on its rolls.

Over the years, the school has produced scholars, educationists, doctors and professionals who have gone on to establish themselves in different fields, strengthening the institution’s reputation as a platform for nurturing talent.

The success of its alumni in NEET has now added another significant milestone to that journey.
