Devyani Rana Announces ₹12.5 Lakh for Nagrota Shamshan Ghat Road, Flood Protection Works in Durga Vihar

Nagrota, Jammu, Sept 5 (KNS): MLA Nagrota Devyani Rana has announced a total allocation of ?12.5 lakh for two key infrastructure projects aimed at improving public access and strengthening flood protection measures in the Nagrota constituency.

During her visit to Nagrota Panchayat to assess local infrastructure requirements, Rana announced ?7.5 lakh from the CDF for the development and improvement of the approach road to the Nagrota Shamshan Ghat near Khel Gaon Nagrota.

The road project is aimed at improving connectivity and providing residents with safer, smoother and more dignified access to the cremation ground, addressing an important long-standing local requirement.

Rana also reviewed clearance and flood-related works in Durga Vihar along with Tehsildar Nagrota Sumit Kohli and announced an additional ?5 lakh for flood protection measures in the area. While reviewing both works on the ground, the MLA directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely execution and maintain quality standards so that the projects deliver maximum benefit to local residents.

“Essential civic infrastructure and the safety and dignity of our people remain our priority. The approach road to the Shamshan Ghat is an important community requirement, while flood protection measures in Durga Vihar will help make the area safer and more resilient. We will continue to address genuine concerns of the people through timely and need-based interventions,” Rana said.

The two projects are expected to provide direct and tangible benefits to residents by improving access to essential community infrastructure and strengthening protection against flooding.

The initiative reflects MLA Devyani Rana’s continued focus on responsive governance, better civic infrastructure and addressing grassroots concerns across the Nagrota constituency. (KNS)
