Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNS) Congress MLAs in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday raised slogans of "Vote Chor" and "Ghadi Chhodo" and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, even as proceedings were repeatedly disrupted amid an ongoing debate on the statehood resolution.
Congress MLA Irfan Hafeez was seen repeatedly raising the slogans inside the House, while party legislators displayed banners and posters demanding the CEC's resignation.

The Congress members persisted with their protest amid the debate on the statehood resolution moved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, leading to repeated disruptions of proceedings
Notably, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) earleir in the day submitted a no-confidence motion against the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, accusing him of allowing a reference to special status in the statehood resolution. (KNS)
