Jammu, September 16 (KNS) : Northern Railway's Jammu Division will conduct a special cleanliness campaign from September 17 to October 31 under the "Swachhata Hi Seva-2026", "Swachhata Pakhwada-2026" and "Special Campaign 6.0" initiatives, officials said on Wednesday.

The campaign is being organised with the objective of promoting public awareness and participation in cleanliness across railway premises under the theme "Participation in Cleanliness, Clean India, Developed India".

The campaign will be conducted in three phases under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar.

The first phase, Swachhata Hi Seva-2026, will be observed from September 17 to October 2, followed by Swachhata Pakhwada-2026 from October 1 to October 15. The third phase, Special Campaign 6.0, will be held from October 2 to October 31.

As part of the drive, comprehensive cleanliness activities will be carried out at major railway stations, railway premises, parking areas, offices, railway hospitals, colonies, running rooms and coaching and wagon maintenance depots across the Jammu Division.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

During Swachhata Hi Seva-2026, various activities, including "Swachh Pathshala-Swachhata for Youth Day", will be organised to encourage participation in cleanliness initiatives.

Railway officers and employees will participate in Shramdaan activities and administer the Swachhata Pledge to railway personnel and passengers.

Awareness programmes will also be organised through Prabhat Pheris, street plays, banners, posters and slogans to highlight the importance of cleanliness and the health risks associated with unhygienic surroundings, the release said.

The campaign aims to encourage greater public participation and strengthen cleanliness practices across railway facilities in the Jammu Division.(KNS)
