Bandipora, October 5 (KNS): Bandipora’s rich literary and cultural tradition came into focus as two literary works were unveiled during a gathering that brought together writers, poets, teachers, literary enthusiasts and lovers of the written word.

The occasion witnessed the formal release of ‘Bandpur Naama’, a debut booklet authored by Rahat Bashir, which reflects his connection with the land, history, people and cultural heritage of Bandipora.

For the author, the release marked an important milestone in his literary journey, with the booklet described as a humble attempt to document and express his bond with his homeland and its historical and cultural legacy.

The author expressed gratitude to members of the literary fraternity, the Cultural Academy, Srinagar, the Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, and Dr Reyaz-ul-Hassan for their encouragement, guidance and support in providing a platform to explore and present his literary work.

The event also witnessed the unveiling of ‘Aakhri Pyar Ka Firaq’, a poetry collection authored by government teacher and poet Hamid Khan Ghuraiq. The collection explores themes of love, separation, memories and emotions that often remain unspoken.

The literary gathering highlighted the continuing importance of poetry and literature in preserving emotions, memories and cultural expression at a time when public discourse is increasingly dominated by fast-moving digital content.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

For Bandipora, such occasions carry a significance beyond the release of books. They provide a platform for local writers and poets to present their work, encourage young literary voices and strengthen the district’s connection with its rich intellectual and cultural traditions.

Known for its history, scholarship, Sufi traditions and cultural heritage, Bandipora has long been associated with learning and knowledge. The emergence of new literary works from the district adds another chapter to that tradition.

The release of Bandpur Naama and Aakhri Pyar Ka Firaq thus becomes not merely a literary event, but a reflection of Bandipora’s continuing journey as a hub of knowledge, literature, culture and creativity.

For a land where history and learning have remained deeply intertwined, the new works offer a reminder that Bandipora’s story continues to be written not only in its history books, but also through the words and voices of its contemporary writers and poets.(KNS)
