Govt condemned for curbs on Mirwaiz

Srinagar, Jul 12 (KNS): An important meeting of leaders and activists of Hurriyat Conference (M) and Awami Action Committee was held at the historic Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal to finalize the program framed in connection with July 13, the martyr’s day.
Chairman Hurriyat (M) and patron AAC, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq couldn’t attend the meeting as he continues to remain under enforced and illegal house confinement at his Nigeen residence.
The participants of the meeting strongly condemned the authorities’ decision of caging Hurriyat (M) chairman and barring him from even participating in party meetings as part of the establishments vendetta.
The participants of the meeting strongly condemned the Murder of 22-year-old Khalid Gaffar of Kupwara who was brutally killed in the target firing by the army on Wednesday evening.
They said that laced with the unbridled powers like AFSPA and DAA, forces are committing the war crimes in Kashmir knowing that they won’t be held accountable for the genocide they are committing. Everyday target killing of youth in every nook and corner of valley as part of CASOs and anti-militancy operations or even otherwise at their will.
The participants of the meeting said that the fact remains that GoI and its lakhs of forces present in Kashmir have announced an all-out war against the people of Kashmir and they have planned a genocide of youth including minor boys and girls.
The participants paid glowing tributes to all those who were martyred in the past one week including minor Andleeb stating that pro-freedom leaders and workers are duty bound to honour the sacrifices of martyrs and help people in achieving their right to self determination.
The meeting paid rich tributes to all the martyrs of July 13, 1931 stating that 22 martyrs who fell to the bullets of the then Dogra forces, set base for Kashmir’s pious struggle for freedom from the repressive autocratic rule to peoples own rule.All the participants took a pledge that the supreme sacrifice of martyrs so that Kashmiri’s can become masters of their destiny will not go waste and the peaceful struggle will continue till the goal of right to self determination is achieved.
The participants stated that Kashmiri people irrespective of their age or gender have offered priceless sacrifices of life and limb for the just demand and time is not far when the people would see the dawn of freedom. The participants unanimously decided that in keeping with the party’s tradition after offering congregational prayers at the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will lead a procession from Jamia Masjid to martyrs graveyard Naqshband Sahab shrine (RA) and pay tributes to the 22 martyrs of July 13, 1931.
The participants urged people to follow hhe the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) programme and march towards martyrs graveyard Naqshband sahib (RA) in large numbers to show their love towards the great martyrs who set the foundation for the Kashmir’s freedom struggle. (KNS)
