Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNS): Despite constituting enquiry committee by the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) officials, the alleged supervisor of Block DH Pora is enjoying all benefits within the department with the patronage of higher officials.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Javed Ahamd Veeri who is currently in-charge Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in ICDS Shangus Anantnag vide order no. 832/SMD of 2019 dated 23/10/2019, though demoted and attached by the department after involved in embezzlement of funds, is enjoying benefits with the patronage of higher ups.

Sources said that in year Veeri did embezzlement of funds at huge level and looted the public money for their personal gains. However soon after the issue went viral on social media sites, the concern department ICDS took cognizance and constituted high level committee to probe the matter.

“After the news made rounds in social media networks, Veeri was attached vide order no. 239-SW of 2018 dated 14/09/2018. He was then demoted and shifted to District Program Offcier (DPO) Anantnag till further orders”.

Later on the department constituted high level committee headed by Joint Director ICDS State Mission Directorate including two more members including DPO ICDS Kulgam and CDPO Headqaurter vide order no. 1074-SMD of 2018 dated 22/09/2018. The committee was asked to give detailed report within seven days.

The alleged official who was initially appointed as Supervisor in the department was again transferred after constituting probe committee by the higher officials which itself is a gross violation of norms. He was then transferred vide order no. 498-SMD of 2019 dated 02/08/2019 from Anantnag to Srinagar.

“Mr Javid Ahmad I/C CDPO presently attached in District Program Office, ICDS, Anantnag is hereby transferred and posted I/C CDPO ICDS Project Srinagar vice Mrs. Pasandeeda Akhtar”, order reads.

Sources within the department said that the alleged official is brazenly involved in misappropriation of funds, instead of demotion how he had been promoted and is currently working as CDPO, Shangus. They said, the alleged official is involved in exploiting subordinates both men and women.

Sources said, despite passing of 13 months, the enquiry committee constituted on 22/09/2018 has yet to complete its report.

When contacted to State Mission Director ICDS J&K Shabnam Shah Kamili, she said that the transfer from one place to another is departmental affair but as far as findings of enquiry commission are concerned, I will look into”. (KNS)
