Bandipora, Sep 11 (KNS): The Gurez administration has issued notices to 10 doctors after they were found absent from duty during a surprise inspection on September 10, warning of disciplinary action and ordering that their salary bills be withheld until further orders.
The notices, issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Gurez, state that the doctors were found absent during an inspection conducted by the MLA Gurez and the SDM.
The administration has also alleged that the officials were habitually absent from their duties, terming it unauthorised absence and dereliction of duty.
According to the notices, the absence of the doctors caused “great inconvenience” and badly affected patient care in the area.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The concerned doctors have been given two days to submit written explanations as to why disciplinary action under the relevant service rules should not be initiated against them.
The SDM has marked the matter as “most urgent”, reflecting the seriousness with which the administration has viewed the alleged absence.
In a further move, the SDM directed the Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora, and Treasury Officer, Gurez, not to prepare or entertain the salary bills of the concerned officials till further orders.(KNS)
