Bandipora, Sep 11 (KNS): The Gurez administration has issued notices to 10 doctors after they were found absent from duty during a surprise inspection on September 10, warning of disciplinary action and ordering that their salary bills be withheld until further orders.

‎The notices, issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Gurez, state that the doctors were found absent during an inspection conducted by the MLA Gurez and the SDM.
‎
‎The administration has also alleged that the officials were habitually absent from their duties, terming it unauthorised absence and dereliction of duty.
‎

‎The concerned doctors have been given two days to submit written explanations as to why disciplinary action under the relevant service rules should not be initiated against them.
‎
‎The SDM has marked the matter as “most urgent”, reflecting the seriousness with which the administration has viewed the alleged absence.
‎
‎In a further move, the SDM directed the Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora, and Treasury Officer, Gurez, not to prepare or entertain the salary bills of the concerned officials till further orders.(KNS)
