Zuhaib Mir Calls for Swift Flood Relief, Stronger Bunds in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 04 (KNS): PDP leader Zuhaib Mir on Thursday visited flood-prone areas in Panthachowk, Lasjan, and Souteng to assess the situation on the ground amid rising water levels.

In a statement issued, During his visit, Mir urged the authorities to take immediate and necessary steps to strengthen the river bunds to prevent further breaches and mitigate the risk of flooding. Additionally, Mir appealed to the authorities to implement significant measures to assist residents in Kursu Rajbagh, Gonikhan, Hari Singh High Street, and Tankipora, where houses have been inundated due to the floods. He stressed the importance of swift evacuation, rehabilitation, and compensation for those impacted.

Mir urged the government to prioritize disaster management and long-term infrastructure improvements in vulnerable regions.(KNS)
