Srinagar, Nov 22 (KNS): Zonal President, Youth National Conference North zone, Sameer Iqbal Bhat on Tuesday resigned from the post including basic membership of the party.
In his resignation letter which was addressed to NC Patron, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Bhat said, "with a very heavy heart, I am bidding farewell to the party. I joined back in 2017 with high hopes that JKNC represents the aspirations of the people and this is the
party which has always defended the rights and identity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir".
"On the fateful day of 5th August 2019 in an unconstitutional and undemocratic
manner Jammu and Kashmir was deprived of its special identity and the erstwhile was bifurcated and downgraded to two UTS and the people of the erstwhile state saw only hope in JKNC leadership, but with recent developments where party
declared constituency incharges for all seats of Kashmir made it crystal clear that party will go solo in assembly elections which is a complete u-turn from
its earlier stand that PAGD will fight elections jointly to put unified fight against the
continuous onslaught on the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir", Bhat continued.(KNS)
