Srinagar, Mar 28 (KNS) : Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Saturday expressed grief over the loss of lives in an avalanche at Zojila Pass in Ganderbal district and prayed for the safety of those still trapped.
Seven people were killed and five others injured after a massive avalanche struck the high-altitude pass on Friday afternoon, burying several vehicles on the Srinagar-Leh national highway near Zero Point.
In a post on X, the veteran batter as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) said, “Very unfortunate news coming in from Zojila Pass.

Officials said the avalanche, believed to have been triggered by bright sunlight, hit a stretch of the strategic highway at an altitude of 3,580 metres. Eyewitnesses reported that a large volume of snow crashed down on a line of passenger vehicles negotiating the snow-laden road. (KNS)
