Srinagar, Jun 22 (KNS): Kashmir Policy & Strategy Group (KPSG) convenor Ashok Bhan on Monday extended greetings to Kashmiri Pandits across the globe on the occasion of Zeth Ashtami and said the festival reflects the Valley's shared cultural and spiritual heritage.
In a statement, Bhan said the occasion, dedicated to the worship of Mata Ragnya Devi at the Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulmulla, represents faith, devotion and Kashmir's longstanding spiritual traditions.
He said the festival rekindles collective memories and strengthens the bond of Kashmiris with their homeland.
Bhan expressed gratitude to members of the Muslim, Sikh and other communities in Kashmir for the welcome and support extended to Kashmiri Pandits visiting the Valley during the annual festival.
According to the statement, Bhan said the warmth shown by local communities inspires hope for healing past wounds through understanding, compassion and reconciliation.
As devotees gathered at the Kheer Bhawani shrine to offer prayers, Bhan called for peace, harmony and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
He also reiterated the need for the dignified return, rehabilitation and reintegration of displaced Kashmiri Pandits in their ancestral homeland.
Bhan said collective efforts were needed to preserve Kashmir's inclusive traditions and ensure a future in which all Kashmiris can live with dignity, security and a sense of belonging. (KNS).
