Kupwara, Apr 26 (KNS): The parents who have enrolled their children in the Government schools in Zone Mawer of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district alleged that Zonal Education Officer is not releasing the uniform grant for the students.
According to KNS correspondent, the locals alleged that the ZEO often keep the amount in official accounts and don’t release it for some unknown reasons.
“Last year, the uniform we purchased was of sub standard quality and firstly the amount was credited to school accounts and later school heads were directed to deposit the same in cash to some person who in turn provided the sub standard uniforms,” locals alleged.
Locals also alleged that a few years back, computers and 10 sewing machines were provided to UPS Lawoosa Zone Mawer under operation Sadbhavna but some computers and sewing machines went missing and the teachers were called to office by concerned ZEO (Mawer) in this regard.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Instead of recovering the lost valuable assets, the ZEO has made the teachers to sit in the office and negotiating with them, rather than lodging complaint against them or filing FIR in concerned police station so that the things which are missing may be recovered from the possession of culprits,” locals alleged.
The parents later requested the higher ups to transfer the ZEO so that things are put in the right perspective and they have also demanded for audit of SSA funds.
CEO Kupwara told KNS that the funds for uniform has been released in previous year’s December month to concerned ZEO’s, but till date the ZEO Mawer had not distributed it to concerned students. (KNS)
