Zahid’s, Akhlaq’s killings by Hindu fanatics has potential to disintegrate India: Hashim Qureshi

Demands Rs 50 lakh ex-gratia relief for Zahid’s family

Srinagar, Oct 20 (KNS): Stating that communal terror unleashed by RSS, VHP and Bajrangdal has made minorities particularly Muslims to feel insecure in India, chairman Democratic Liberation Party Hashim Qureshi has said that the communal killings like that of Zahid Ahmad Bhat and Mohammad Akhlaq of Dadri UP by the right-wing Hindus fanatics may result in complete disintegration of India.
In a statement to KNS, Qureshi said that the black sheep in Hindu majority community like RSS, VHP, Bajrangdal and other fanatic organizations are instigating communal riots against the minority Muslim community, which is threat to the democratic credentials of India but also goes antagonistic to the idea of Gandhain India.
He said that unfortunately the government of the ‘secular India’ was directly encouraging and promoting the communal elements in various parts of India with an aim to reap political dividends over it. He said that those Hindu fanatics who think terrorism in India was promoted by Pakistan should go to their neighboring country and fight them there instead of attacking the weak Muslim community.
DLP chairman termed Zahid’s murder as murder of humanity and held government squarely responsible for this crime. He said those involved in this heinous crime should be dealt strictly as per law of the land.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelCastigating both present and previous government, Qureshi said that such shameful incidents did happen during previous government’s time but no action has been taken against the culprits till now.
He said that murders like that of Zahid have the potential to inflame communal fires across sub-continent and urged upon rational thinkers and secular minds in India to rise above the occasion and save the India as envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi.
Qureshi urged upon the state government to provide ex-gretia relief of Rs 50 lakh to the family of Zahid on the pattern of UP government which announced same amount for the family of Alhlaq. He also urged government to provide adequate compensation to the family of another truck driver Mohammad Lateef killed by Hindu fanatics on August 17, 2008.Lateef’s family, as per Qureshi, was denied ex-gratia relief by previous government led by Omar Abdullah on the pretext that the then government had spent six lakh rupees on Lateef’s treatment in Delhi.
Qureshi castigated pro-India for doing politics on the blood of Kashmiris and are befooling people of Kashmir through crocodile tears.
Meanwhile, Qureshi condemned the police action on JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and others in Batengoo Anantnag. (KNS)
