Pays tributes to martyrs

Srinagar, Apr 24 (KNS): Just after his release from house detention, senior resistance leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat on Sunday visited Pulwama, Shopian and paid tributes to martyrs.
During his visit, Bhat visited several martyr graveyards and offered special prayers to martyrs in particular those who were martyred by forces during recent gunfight with Indian forces.
According to a statement issued to KNS, on the occasion, he paid rich tributes to martyrs and pledged to carry forward their mission. Addressing a gathering in Pulwama, Zaffer said that Kashmir is a political problem and needs to be resolved politically.
He said that economic packages can in no term be substitute for right to self determination for which people of Jammu & Kashmiri offered countless and precious sacrifices. Bhat said that he was illegally detained for more than two weeks and wasn't allowed to visit the families of martyrs, however maintained that illegal detentions, confinements and arrests can't deter us from pursuing ongoing movement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe impressed people to show steadfastness towards the movement and remain committed. Zaffer appealed people to foil anti-Kashmir and anti-movement designs of Indian armed forces. He slammed authorities for proposal of building structures for non locals in different parts in Kashmir and asked government of India to stop all such activities that could alter or change the demography of state. Later, Zaffer Akbar Bhat visits SMHS hospital and enquired the health of senior leader Shabir Ahmad Dar. He prayed for his early recovery.
Zafar Akbar expressed sorrow over the sad demise of Gh Mohammad Bhat of Badipora Chadoora. He in his condolence message said that Dar was a noted social worker and paid rich tributes for his contribution towards freedom movement. (KNS)
