Srinagar, Apr 3 (KNS): Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat Sunday arrived in Srinagar and chaired a high level meeting of party leaders and workers at party headquarters.
On the occasion, Zaffer Akbar Bhat briefed party leaders and workers about the prevailing situation, political developments viz-a-viz Kashmir dispute. He also apprised the members about his meeting with Pakistan envoy Abdul Basit at Pakistan’s New Delhi embassy. He told the members that Pakistan has reassured political, moral and diplomatic support to ongoing freedom struggle of Kashmiris.
Bhat also apprised the members about his recent meetings with the socio-political organizations of Punjab and Jammu division.
He urged party leaders and workers to intensify political activities across the state to bring the issue of Kashmir into the notice of world powers. Bhat said that diplomats representing foreign states in India too assured support to Kashmiris during recent meetings.
Members expressed satisfaction over the successful conclusion of party chairman’s tour and hailed him for his diplomatic efforts for peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, Zaffer Akbar Bhat condemned interference of authorities in NIT Srinagar campus issue and demanded adequate security to Kashmiris students studying in various Indian colleges and universities.
He also slammed Indian union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for politicizing NIT Srinagar issue and asked authorities to leave students free to decide what is good for them and what is wrong.
Bhat said that students should not be made victims of hatred and communal politics instead should be allowed to express their expressions freely inside camps. He said that college authorities must stop police and other agencies from interfering into these issues as their interference can damage their future and career.
He also demanded adequate security to students who being targeted in Indian colleges. Zaffer also asked Indian government to release all those Kashmiris political detainees who have completed their terms.
Zaffar while condemning the use of brute force on demonstrators at Khrew Pulwama said that huge militarization in Kashmir is main hurdle in peace. (KNS)
