Srinagar, Jan 24 (KNS): Senior resistance leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat today paid glowing tributes to veteran Jammat-e-Islami leader and well-known Islamic Scholar Shaheed Abdul Rashid on his 15th martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement to KNS, Zaffer recounted the sacrifices rendered by the martyr for the ongoing freedom struggle and Islam. He said that martyr Abdul Rashid was arrested by the forces and martyred in custody.
Zaffer also paid glowing tributes to his companions including martyr Sidiq Saleh, martyr Umar Fayaz Jan and Irfan Yousuf who laid down their lives for the freedom of Kashmir. He said that mission of martyrs will be taken to its logical conclusion and their precious sacrifices will not be allowed to go waste.
Bhat also paid tributes to those who were martyred by forces in Hundwara and Kupwara on 25th and 26th January in 90’s. He demanded a through probe into this bloodshed and demanded stren punishment to those troopers involved the Hundwara and Kupwara massacres.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelZaffer rued the delay in delivering justice to victim families of infamous massacres perpetrated by Indian security forces.
He said that despite the passage of over 25 years families are still waiting for the justice. Bhat said that Kashmiris have rendered priceless sacrifices and will not deter from offering more for receiving freedom.
Zaffer condemned the nocturnal raids, restrictions, frisking of civilians on roads and detention of innocent youth ahead of January 26-Indian republic day. He said that dozens of Salvation Movement activists and leaders have been asked to report to different police station which is sheer frustration of Indian authorities and security
forces.
He said that whole Kashmiris have every right to observe January 26-Indian republic day- as black day to convey a strong message to world that Kashmiris want freedom and Kashmiris aren’t sacrificing lives for economic packages but for liberating Kashmir from the illegal occupation of India. (KNS)
