Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNS): Senior Pro-freedom leader and Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffer Akbar Bhat on Monday denounced the detention of Hurriyat leaders, youths and ban on internet and other communication services on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Zaffer Akbar Bhat who was today release from the house detention after six days termed the internet ban as an “act of frustration.” “It reflects the mindset of the present government. The step is highly condemnable and grave human rights violation. When the world is moving towards development, government in J&K is choking people’s freedom by banning internet.”
He said that on one hand Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to impress the world community with his hoax agenda of ‘digital India’ but on the other hand same person is suspending the internet services in Jammu Kashmir which reveals the real mindset of Indian rulers.
Zaffer said that administration at the behest of Hindu communal forces converted the entire Jammu and Kashmir into a big jail during Eid-ul-Azha days which is unacceptable. He said that the unprecedented ban on internet in Kashmir had severely hit businesses of the trade community which establishes the fact that the ban is part of the program which communal forces are trying to implement for the massive economic destruction.
He called upon international community to play its role in settlement of the Kashmir dispute and take notice of human rights violations by India in the territory.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Zaffer Akbar Bhat also condemned the detention of Hurriyat leaders, innocent youth on Eid-ul-Azha and demanded unconditional release of the detained youth without any delay. Zaffer, who visited Kareamabad Pulwama today and expressed sympathy with the families of detained youth, said that security forces have lashed a reign of terror in Kashmir.
He demanded release of Nayeem Ahmad Pandit s/o Ghulam Ahmad Pandit, Jahangir Ahmad Dar s/o Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Bita Mir s/o Ghulam Nabi Mir, Showket Ahmad Bhat son-in-law Khaleel Mohd Bhat, all residents of Kreemabad Pulwama.
Meanwhile Zaffer Akbar Bhat lauded the role of Pakistani Prime Nawaz Sharif which is playing for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met UN Secretary-General on Sunday and pressed for implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir issue which is worth to praise.
Zaffer said that Pakistan have always supported Kashmiris struggle for the ‘right to self determination’ and Kashmiris will remember it for centuries to come. He urged United Nations especially General Secretary to fulfill the responsibility and help in the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute which has endangered peace in South Asian region and is responsible for the Indo-Pak border hostility.
