Srinagar, Mar 5 (KNS): Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bat Saturday called detention of senior pro-freedom leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Mehraj-u-din kalwal and other detainees as undemocratic and uncalled and demanded their immediate release.
In an issued statement to KNS, Zaffer Akbar said that by jailing pro-freedom leaders, India has lost the political fight with Kashmiris and has accepted defeat.
He said that imprisoning peaceful political leaders and barring them from continuing their political activities has exposed the real face of so-called democracy.
Bhat also demanded release of all Kashmiri political prisoners who have completed their terms and slammed authorities for registering baseless cases against Kashmiri students.
“It is ironic that those innocent detainees who have completed their terms are still lashing in jails. The country which is beating drums to have a vibrant Judiciary is not releasing these prisoners on Court directions too,” Zaffer said in a statement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that the condition of most of the prisoners has worsened due non-availability of basic medical facilities in jails across the country while in Kashmir maximum jails are overcrowded.
“Prolonging their days in captivity and unleashing tyranny on them is against all international laws and brazen violation of human rights,” he added. Zaffar also condemn the attack on Muslims in Rajouri by Hindu extremists, Abdul Ghani and his son, Shafiq Ahmed, residents of Chandimarh Surankote, were critically injured
He also condemn the use of brute force on devotees outside Jammia Masjid Srinagar, He also condemn the torture on innocent youths by Indian forces in Zaingeer area like Pazalpora, Dooru, Shewa etc.
Meanwhile, Salvation Movement delegation comprising Molvi Rafiq Ahmad and Javed Ahmad visited the families of youth martyred by forces in Darsura Tral and Charoosa and expressed sympathy with them. Delegation paid glowing tributes to martyrs who laid down their lives. (KNS)
