Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Friday strongly condemned the continuous house detention of Party Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat for last five days.
In a statement to KNS, Party Spokesman slammed authorities for detaining Zaffer Akbar Bhat and not allowing him to offer Friday prayers.
He said that barring Bhat from offering prayers has exposed the true face of Indian democracy.
“Freedom of Religion is a fundamental right guaranteed by Article 19 and 25 of the Indian constitution but in Kashmir, which they claim is integral part of India, laws and rules are being thrown into dustbin just to muzzle the voice of innocent Kashmiris-demanding right to self determination since 1947,” Spokesman added.
He demanded unconditional release of the political prisoners, Pro-freedom leaders and innocent youths detaining for carrying political struggle against the illegal occupation.
Meanwhile, Zaffer Akbar Bhat denounced the registration of cases against JNU students who held peaceful protest demonstration in New Delhi on the anniversary of Martyr Dr Afzal Guru.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that by taking such a step, India has established the fact that it is only intolerant country in the world where students are not being spared for expressing their views.
He encourage all Kashmiri people in and outside state and living across the world for showing full commitment with the cause on the anniversaries of both the great martyrs. Bhat slammed forces for imposing serve restrictions in Kashmir on the anniversaries of martyrs and urged International community to pressurize India for early resolution of Kashmir conflict for global peace and prosperity.
Meanwhile JKSM in its mass contact programme today Molvi Rafiq in Pulwama, Molvi Mushtaq in Civil Lines, Imtiyaz Ahmed in Kulgam, Ghulam Ahmed Azad in Handwara addressed the people gatherings after Friday prayers and asked people to continue their political struggle for freedom of Kashmir. (KNS)
