Srinagar, Mar 6 (KNS): Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat Sunday visited the families of slain militants who were killed in overnight encounter on Thursday in Tral.
Accompanied by Party Leaders including women’s wing secretary Ruqiya Baji, Rather Mehraj-u-din, Molvi Rafiq, Javed Ahmad and Beg Aijaz, Zaffer Akbar Bhat led huge pro-freedom rallies at Darsura, Laribal Tral and Charsoo Awantipora.
In a statement issued to KNS, Zaffar said that hundreds of people participated in the rallies and shouted Pro-Islam and Pro-freedom slogans.
Bhat addressed the gatherings and paid glowing tributes to Ashiq Hussain Bhat of Charsoo, Awantipora, Mohd Ishaq Parry resident of Laribal Tral and Asif Ahmad Mir resident of Darsura Tral He expressed sympathy with the families of martyrs and pledged to take the ongoing freedom struggle to its logical conclusion.
Women’s wing secretary Ruqiya Baji also led procession of females at all three places and addressed the gatherings.
He asked naïve Kashmiris to remember genius and intelligent youngsters like Shaheed Ishaq-who are scarifying their dreams and bright future for the freedom of nation.
“All those youngsters who fight Indian army, is a class of intellectuals. Their sacrifices are precious and asset of the ongoing freedom movement which we have to protect,” Zaffer said

He slammed Indian government, puppet authorities and mainstream political parties for backing Indian security forces who are killing innocents, carrying out massacres and perpetrating grave human rights violations.
Zaffer said that no power on earth can crush and muzzle the genuine and just struggle of any oppressed nation. History stands testimony to the fact that oppressed nations have managed to secure their rights despite odds, oppression and suppression.
He said that so-called international community including United Nations has failed to deliver justice to Kashmiris since from last over seven decades. Bhat said that decorum United Nations which has passed a bundle of resolutions for peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict is at stake, so it testing time for the world community.
Asking world community to shun double standards, Zaffer Akbar Bhat demanded peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute and an end to bloodshed.
Zaffer Akbar Bhat also paid tributes to known Lassa Khan of Kupwara whose four sons and two nephews laid down their precious lives for ongoing freedom struggle. Praying for deceased, Zaffer said that contribution of Lassa Khan will serve as torchbearer for whole Kashmiri nation. (KNS)
