Srinagar December 17 (KNS) Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range, Maqsood Zaman on wednesday said youth participation is key to the country’s development and stressed the need for stronger communication between young people and institutions.
Talking to media as per KNS, DIG said young people face many challenges. When they raise issues, their presentation often lacks clarity. He added that many of these problems also come with practical solutions suggested by the youth themselves.
He said the police are regularly engaging with people, listening to their concerns, and discussing broader social issues. He clarified that such public interaction is part of routine policing.
The DIG said the main focus of North Kashmir Police remains terrorism, drug trafficking, and other serious crimes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said police have sought public cooperation on these issues and encouraged people to actively support law enforcement efforts.
On the drug menace, Maqsood Ahmad said police have taken aggressive action since last year. He said large seizures were made and multiple FIRs were registered. Investigations have also established both forward and backward linkages in drug networks.
He said the police aim to completely eliminate drug trafficking. Action is being taken against properties created through illegal activities, including benami assets. These properties are being identified, attached, and seized.
The continuous operations are underway and strategies are planned in a focused and result driven manner he added.(KNS)
