Imposes shutdown in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jul 26 (KNS): Though the district administration as well as the separatist leadership had called for relaxation in curfew and strike respectively, the youth on Tuesday defied the call and imposed shutdown in Srinagar areas.
Witnesses said that a large number of youth took out a procession in several Srinagar areas and asked the shop owners to close their shops and restricted the vehicular movement in several areas as well.
“The protesting youth took out a procession from Karan Nagar, Jahangir Chowk, Maharaja Bazar, Sarai Bala and Batamaloo and imposed shutdown in these areas,” witnesses said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that the youth also erected temporary barricades on the roads to stop the vehicular movement in the areas.
“Forces however swung into action to disperse the agitated youth,” witnesses said.
The district administration had announced that there will be no restrictions in Srinagar today while the separatist leadership had also called for relaxation in strike after 02:00 pm today. (KNS)
