Will seek report from CMO Kupwara in this regard: State Nodal officer NHM

Kupwara, Dec 30 (KNS) Despite working day in and day out, Community Health Officers (CHOs) of health department of several blocks in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district are without performance based incentives for the last one year.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said the incentives given based on performance to health employees have been denied to three blocks that include Langate, Sogam and Tangdar since last year.

They said the performance based incentives have been disbursed in maximum blocks of Kupwara except Langate, Sogam and Tangdhar leaving the health employees in distress.

One of the CHOs posted in Sogam block told KNS that they have several times approached the CMO office for the same, however, no attention is being given to their genuine demand.

“Incentives has been disbursed in the maximum blocks of Kupwara, but we fail to understand why we are been treated differently,” she said.

They appealed to the higher authorities to intervene into the matter and resolve their genuine concern.

Meanwhile, state Nodal Officer, NHM Dr Mohammad Shafi Koka told KNS that the incentives in favour of CHOs has already been disbursed from NHM, however, they are seeking a report from CMO Kupwara as to why the amount has not been disbursed in the three blocks of Kupwara.

Besides three blocks from Kupwara, Ganderbal and Baramulla are being denied performance based incentives since April 2022. (KNS)
