A meeting of Committee on Government Assurances was held today under the chairmanship of Hakim Mohammad Yaseen to examine the action taken report on assurances pertaining to Agriculture Production Department.
Legislators Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Sham Lal Chowdhery and Noor Mohammad Bhat attended the meeting. Besides Commissioner Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Director Horticulture Marketing and Planning, Managing Director HPMC, Directors of Horticulture and Agriculture of both divisions were also present in the meeting.
The Committee was assured by the concerned officers that the land measuring more than 5 kanals was identified for establishment of vegetable market at Tamator Morh, and an amount of Rs. 20 lakh were placed at the disposal of Collector Land Acquisition, Udhampur by Horticulture Department.
It was given out in the meeting that policy for regularization of Rehbar-e-Zirat (ReZ) candidates has been issued by Government on August 2011 based on Cabinet decision.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIt was further informed that under this policy, 2642 posts of Village Agriculture Extension Assistants were created and the department had already regularized 811 ReZs in the first phase.
Commissioner Secretary, APD also assured that department has identified site measuring 500 kanals at Aglar Shopian for establishing high-tech fruit and vegetable market where all basic facilities on modern lines are supposed to be provided. The department has formulated DPR for an amount of Rs. 37.70 crores for development of the said mandi.
It was also informed in the meeting that land measuring about 400 kanals situated in villages like Mananu, Arazi, Samba, Behri and Smalah of Tehsil and District Samba have been identified for establishment of Krishi Vigyan Kendra for Samba district. (KNS)
