Baramulla, Mar 24 :(KNS) District Tuberculosis Centre Baramulla under the Aegis of State TB Cell, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir celebrated world TB day with the theme 'Invest to End TB. Save Lives' in North Kashmir's Sopore town of Baramulla district. 

 

The function was held at Auditorium of Government Degree College Boys, Sopore in which Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla Aijaz Asadullah Saraf was the chief guest on the occasion who appreciated the idea of organizing the event in an innovative manner. 

 

The objective of observing the day was to disseminate awareness among the general public and all relevant stake holders about Tuberculosis disease.

 

A rally in this regard was was also taken by the students, SDRF and other community volunteers supported by different NGOs and CHRI-JEET from Government Degree College Sopore which was flagged off by the district Tuberculosis officer Baramulla and BMO Sopore. 

 

CMO Baramulla Bashir Ahmed Malik, DTO Dr. Rehana, President - Municipal Council Baramulla Touseef Raina, President Muncipal Council Sopore Masarat Kar and Other dignateries on the occasion actively participated in the event and stressed the need to intensify case notification and urged the people to take part in TB prevention activities.
