World Population Day was observed at Budgam today in which more than 150 people participated and highlighted the importance of the day.
The function was organized by the office of Deputy Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Dr Tehmeena Bukhari. Chief Medical Officer Budgam Dr G M Dar was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMO emphasized the importance of the day and said that it was important to bring the population under control. "The way the population has grown it has caused more problems as majority of people who are in need of facilities are ignored". He impressed upon the officials to work towards the goal and show the results as per the instructions of the government.

A number of experts spoke on the occasion and sensitized the people about the demerits of uncontrolled population and asked them to be aware of the problems.
Community Health Officers, lady health visitors, ASHA workers and multi-purpose health workers besides other officials attaended the programme.
The CMO Budgam appreciated the officials for holding the programme.
Dy CMO Budgam Dr Tehmeena Bukhari presented the vote of thanks and listed out the programs being organized by her office.
District Health Officer Budgam Dr Nadeem was also present on the occasion.
