Srinagar, Dec 27 (KNS): Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday paid rich tributes to the revered Sufi saint Sultan-ul-Hind Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) on his 814th Urs, calling his life and mission a shining chapter in the spiritual history of the subcontinent.

In a message posted on X, the Mirwaiz said Khwaja Chishti (RA) played a historic role in spreading Islam through spirituality, compassion and selfless service to humanity. He said the saint’s teachings were not just religious, but also human, rooted in love, equality and dignity for all.

“The world must revisit his life and teachings of equality, peace and human dignity. That will be the truest tribute to his noble mission,” Mirwaiz said.

He further highlighted the saint’s influence on society, saying historians record that nearly nine million people embraced Islam through his efforts, a testimony to the power of his message, which won hearts without force or conflict.

The Mirwaiz said that Islam, under Khwaja’s mission, grew in Kashmir and the subcontinent through spiritual awakening, service to people, and by removing social barriers.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He also said the saint’s message is more relevant today than ever, especially at a time when many parts of the world are facing anger, hate, division and intolerance.

“In today’s climate of intolerance and division, it would do the world great good to revisit his teachings,” he further said.

Mirwaiz added that real tribute to Khwaja Chishti (RA) is not just to remember him, but to follow his path of peace and respect for every human being.

He said the saint stood for unity and healing, and his legacy continues to inspire millions across religions and regions.

“His mission remains a lesson for humanity, rooted in compassion and service,” Mirwaiz also said.

The 814th Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) is being observed at Ajmer Sharif with large participation of devotees from across the world.(KNS)
