Srinagar, July 23 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Saturday said world has rejected India’s propaganda that present uprising in Kashmir is a law and order issue and has acknowledged the demand of the oppressed people of Jammu Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah expressed satisfaction over the growing support for Kashmir cause from various parts of the world. “Even the justice-loving people in various Indian states are questioning as to why Kashmiri children are killed and maimed. This is a golden opportunity. Our voices are heard and supported by Indian intellectual class,” he said.
Shah said killing of more than 55 people, injuring of more than 3000, and maiming of hundreds of youth, has grieved us and has levied upon us great responsibility. “In such hard times, we are left with no option but to walk together shoulder to shoulder,” he said and hailed the efforts of civil societies across the world, Pakistan, Azad Kashmir, Indian intellectuals, Kargil students, Dal Khalsa, Sikh community, the people of Pir Panchal, Chenab Valley and the human rights bodies who rasied voice in favour of the oppressed Kashmiris.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the people of Kashmir neither struggle for any material gains nor is their movement aimed at overthrowing any government but “we are rendering sacrifices of our precious lives for a greater and noble cause”. He reiterated his appeal to people to continue the protests in an organised and peaceful manner.
The DFP chairman appealed every section of the society to play role during the ongoing freedom movement while assuring them that the dawn of freedom will rise very soon, God Willing (Insha Allah).
“The journey of freedom is filled with thorns and we have to pass such trail and tribulation and must take utmost care of the weaker sections of the society in such hard times,” Shah said. (KNS)
