Srinagar, Oct 11 (KNS): The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah Monday said the world forums are acknowledging the right to self-determination for nations and there is no place for thrusting any kind of choice on the nations seeking such right.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Shah made these remarks while telephonically addressing the DFP activists on the inauguration of party’s Kupwara office today. DFP secretary general Moulana Abdullah Tari, Er Farooq Ahmad and Peer Inayatullah also addressed the party members, representatives and respected.
In his address, Shah said we have to walk shoulder by shoulder in taking the freedom movement to its logical conclusion. He hailed the contribution of Kupwara towards the freedom movement. He said due to the personalities like Anwar Shah Kashmiri and Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat, we have a special emotional attachment with Kupwara.
Shah while terming the Kupwara as gateway of Kashmir paid glowing tributes to martyrs of Kashmir particularly to Kupwara martyrs. He said despite heavy concentration of military in the region, Kupwara has stood firm against the Indian occupation.
He also paid glowing tributes to martyrs of 25 January 1900 in which 22 people were killed, November 1, 1990 when the whole area was destroyed by forces, 27 November 1994 in which 22 people were me martyred.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Commenting on the need for district office Shah said the office serves as a heart for the organization. He directed party activists and members to strengthen the public relationship at grassroots level. Over the changing world scenario and Kashmir issue, Shah said we are struggling for a "cause" not trying to usurp any part from any country. He said the world forums are acknowledging the right to self-determination for nations and there is no place for thrusting any kind of choice on the nations seeking such right.
Terming Pakistan as a prime stakeholder of Kashmir dispute and a well wisher of Kashmiris, Shah said the nation always supported our cause at global forums for which we are proud of this nation. He made it clear that Kashmir has never been a part of India.
He reiterated the resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the UN resolutions or through trilateral talks between India, Pakistan and Kashmiris and rejected the Onion-potato trade between India and Pakistan. The Freedom Party chairman strongly condemned the growing communal activities in the state and said these forces are hell bent in conspiring against the Jammu and Kashmir. Shah however made it clear that all the conspiracies against dividing the state will be resisted tooth and nail and we will never let such designs conspiracies succeed at any cost. (KNS)
