Srinagar, Jul 29 (KNS): The work in Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) is suffering in the absence of a full time Accounts Officer.
Sources told KNS that Accounts Officer at the DIPR retired in March 2019 and since then Finance Department has failed to send his replacement. “The charge of the Accounts Officer at the DIPR has been given to the officer who serves at Public Service Commission (PSC) and is already over-burdened with his work,” they said.
Sources said Director Information had written two letters to Commissioner Finance in this regard requesting him to send a full-fledged Accounts Officer to the Department at the earliest.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“However, till date no decision in this regard has been taken,” they added.
Newspaper owners and other people dealing with the Department said most of their bills are pending for the last four months. “When we approach the Department for release of our payments, we are told that bills will be released after new Accounts Officer takes charge. However, till date nothing has come out,” they said and appealed the higher authorities to immediately send a fulltime officer to the Department. (KNS)
