On the instructions of Zaffar Akber Bhat, Chairman Salvation Movement, Women’s wing secretary Ruqiya Baji along with party leaders staged a protest demonstration here demanding release of hundreds of Kashmiri youth and political activists languishing in jails.
“High pitched slogans were raised over the callous approach of Indian authorities with jail inmates facing life imprisonment and demanded unconditional release of all illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in various jails of India and Kashmir before Eid-ul-Fitr on humanitarian grounds, so that they can celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr with their family members,” a spokesperson of the party said in a statement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Interacting with media, Ruqiya Baji said that during electioneering Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to adopt the policy of ‘Insanayt’ for resolving the Kashmir dispute for bringing an end to human rights violation, “but he stands exposed as again adopted policy of oppression and suppression.”
She also condemned the house detention of Hurriyat leaders Syed
Ali Shah Geelani, Mirvaiz Umar Farooq, JKLF chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik, Shabir Ahmad Shah and other pro-freedom leaders and said that curbing and restricting the movement of pro-freedom leadership can’t weak the ongoing struggle.
