Women’s Polytechnic Srinagar Signs MoUs With Tourism, Hospitality Bodies

 Srinagar, June 16 (KNS): Government Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the Travel Agents Association of India, the Radisson Hotels and the Ecotourism Association of Kashmir to strengthen skill-based training and industry exposure for students pursuing courses in travel, tourism and hospitality management.

 
The agreements aim to enhance industry-academia collaboration by providing students with opportunities for internships, industrial training, field visits, mentoring and experiential learning, officials said.
 
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Principal of the institute Imtiaz Ahmad said the collaboration would help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements.
 
He said direct engagement with professionals from the tourism and hospitality sectors would improve students' practical skills and workplace readiness.
 
Representatives of the partner organisations said the collaboration would support academic programmes through industry interaction and provide students with opportunities for professional development.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
Junaid Iqbal, Cluster Director Human Resources, Radisson Group of Hotels and Resorts, said the partnership would focus on creating real-world learning opportunities through internships, mentoring and exposure visits.
 
Head of the Department of Travel and Tourism, Rukhsana Bashir, said the initiative would strengthen practical learning and improve industry readiness among students by facilitating hands-on training and interaction with professionals.
 
The signing ceremony was attended by faculty members, students and representatives of the participating organisations.
 
Officials said the activities envisaged under the agreements would begin in the coming semester, with internships and familiarisation visits planned as part of the programme.(KNS).
