Woman gives birth to triplets in Kupwara village

Handwara, 24 Jan (KNS): A woman from Badnambal village of Kupwara in north Kashmir gave birth to triplets at district hospital Handwara on Sunday. 

An official told the news agency KNS that the woman namely Aateeqa Begum wife of Mohammed Sadeeq, a resident of  Badnambal  village was referred from PHC Kralpora to Handwara, where she gave birth to triplets. 

He said that this was her 6th delivery and the patient was under the supervision of Dr Raees Ahmed and consultant Gynecologist Dr Arifa.
 
Dr Raees Ahmad said that it was a normal delivery and one among the three is a baby boy.

Medical superintendent district hospital Handwara, Dr Nissar Ahmed Wani said all three babies are in good health and their mother is also doing well. 

He, however, said that as a precautionary measure they have referred the babies to Children's hospital Srinagar for specialized treatment because they (babies) were under-weight. (KNS)
