Kupwara, Jul 22 (KNS): A woman was among two persons who died on Thursday after drowning into a Nallh in Kralpora village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that a woman after losing balance fell into Nallah Kehmil following which a youth jumped into the nallah in a bid to rescue her.

"Upon learning of the incident, the concerned police reached the spot and started rescue operation during which the duo was recovered,” he said. 

He, however, said that the woman was found dead while the youth was shifted to sub-district hospital Kralpora but also died on way to hospital.

He identified the duo as Subi Begum wife of Mohammad Sayed Awan of Rashanpora Kralpora and Manzoor Ahmad son of Mohammad Yaqoob of Khanbal Chowkibal. 

"After completing legal and medical formalities the bodies of the duo were handed over to their families for last rites," he added. (KNS)
