Will fight against BJP’s attempts to fiddle with Article 35A: Irfan Naqib

Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNS): While warning Center Government at the Center against any attempt to fiddle with Article 35A, District Congress Committee (DCC) Srinagar President Irfan Naqib today said that the right-wing BJP and RSS were hell bent to divide communities in the state and across the country for petty political gains.
“As the country approaches 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Ram Mandir, Article 35A and other issues have resurfaced. Farmers, Dalits, minorities, workers, students, teachers, tribals and various sections of the society are taking to the street protesting against the regressive policies and failure of the current Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the centre,” he said in a statement to press.
“This government which has failed to achieve the development goal, based on which it came to power in 2014 is also being criticised for the growing intolerance and hatred in the country. RSS and its affiliates do not consider these demands of the people important. The symbol of communal violence in the country is being invoked by the RSS yet again,” the Congress leader said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Stating that nothing has changed in the approach of the RSS-.BJP, Irfan Naqib said communal polarisation has been and continues to be the strategy of the ruling party and its ideological parent.
“Now the BJP-RSS are trying to fiddle with Article 35-A for political gains. Kashmir has been pushed to a quagmire of violence by the BJP for petty political gains. Congress will fight against this tooth and nail. We won’t allow anybody to play politics over the miseries of people of Kashmir and rest of the country,” he said.
“Looking at the agenda of the BJP, we have seen what they have done, what they want. They are keen to destroy the fabric of plurality, the fabric of secular ethos, the fabric of brotherhood in the country,” the Congress leader added.
Naqib said history will never pardon the ilk of Modi-Amit Shah for distorting the entire process for opportunistic political gains. “In the last almost five years of the BJP rule, they have failed to deliver on every promise. Now they want to divide the society as elections are approaching,” he said. (KNS)
