Pahalgam, Oct 16 (KNS): Chief executive officer (CEO) Niti Ayog, Amitabh Kanth on Saturday siad that the government of India and Niti Ayog will do every possible thing to make Pahalgam world’s number one tourist destination. 

Talking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Kanth said that for the product development what ever be the requirement for its marketing both at national and international level, the government of India and Niti Ayog is committed to take the tourism of Pahalgam to next level.

He said that he was perhaps in 6th standard when he visited Pahalgam the first time. “The scenic beauty, mountains, hills and water channels have no parallel in rest of the country. The Pahalgam is extremely eye-soothing and beautiful, that is why I feel that it can be made world’s number one tourist destination,” he said. 

He said that he is glad to see that the place has been kept quite neat and clean. “The presence of new hotels will help the high value tourism to grow.” 

While appreciating the efforts of Tourism department of Jammu Kashmir, he said that the protocol and hospitality is one of the best. 

“I have been secretary to Kerla tourism, but I can tell the, travel tourism of Kashmir is way forward.” 

“Since it is the wish of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make Kashmir tourism a top calls, we are committed to make all efforts together with tourism department of Jammu Kashmir to make it world’s number one destination,” he said. 

Notably, CEO Niti Ayog along with secretary tourism, Sarmad Hafeez and Director Tourism Dr G N Itoo were on a visit to Pahalgam to review the tourism of Pahalgam. (KNS)
