Will Defend Playground at Any Cost : Altaf Bukhari Vows to Block STP Project on Rawalpora Land

Srinagar, Apr 2 (KNS): Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday firmly backed the residents of Gulzarpora Rawalpora in Srinagar, who are up in arms against the administration’s move to take over a local playground for a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project, asserting that the land will be “defended at any cost.”

Visiting the protest site along with party colleagues, Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari said the 24-kanal and 12-marla patch of land is not government property but ‘Shamilat Deh’—a common village land under revenue rules. “We will not allow this to happen.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis land belongs to our youth, and we will defend it at any cost,” he told reporters.

Lashing out at the administration, the former minister questioned why the Chanapora constituency is repeatedly targeted for grabbing playgrounds, leaving youngsters vulnerable to drug abuse and other negative activities. “I stand with the people like a rock,” he asserted, hinting at legal recourse to protect the ground.
