Srinagar, Mar 04 (KNS): The PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti while breaking her silence over the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir said on Friday that her assuming the charge of the next chief minister of the state must benefit the people at large.
“There is no point in assuming the charge of the top post if it is not in the interests of the people of the state. If I assume CM’s post, it should benefit the masses who have been witnessing the turbulent times,” Mehbooba said while launching party’s membership drive in Jammu.
According to the KNS correspondent, she said that if the message to the people of the state is given that the GOI will measures for the peoples’ welfare and the framework that has been formulated by the PDP is prioritised then she would have no hesitation in becoming Chief Minister of this state and that it would be a matter of honour.

Mehbooba while addressing the party workers on Friday claimed that after the death of her father, the situation in the state is not normal. She said Mufti Mohammad Sayeed joined hands with the BJP for state’s overall development. “The coalition was between the Central government and the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mehbooba said.
What could be termed as her hint for accepting state’s top post is that Mehbooba has pitched for the CBMs for the people of the state. She in her address said that the Government of India must reach out to the people of the state and that the bloodshed which has taken toll in JK at present must end.
Mehbooba stated that JK being India’s only Muslim Majority state must get GOI’s special assistance and that India is such a huge country, its treasures would not run empty if it takes measures for peoples’ welfare at large in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
