Will act against drugs menace like we did against militancy: DGP Dilbag Singh

Srinagar, Dec 23 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh on Friday said they will act against the drugs menace challenge like they have been dealing with militancy here.

Talking to reporters in Srinagar, J&K police chief said that the curse of drugs is a problem but the police were also dealing with it strictly with each passing day.

He said to overcome this challenge people also need to come forward so that this menace is dealt with firmly and strictly.

"We will take action against the drugs menace the way have been dealing with militancy here. Anyone found involved in this trade, be it a policeman or any other individual, will not be spared," he said.

He said said those who are issuing threat letters to people here are having trouble with the peaceful environment and it was a shame for them as they have confined themselves to issuing threats only.

“I hope the people of Jammu and Kashmir will give a befitting reply to those who are not happy with the peaceful atmosphere here,” he said. (KNS)
