Srinagar 11 July (KNS): Chairman and Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Bank R K Chhibber has said that well-managed strategy, which was in place, helped the bank in yielding fruitful results even during the Covid-19 pandemic when almost the entire business community was in trouble. 

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), he said that despite the daily life disruption due to the covid, every sector especially the Buisness sector got affected. “Entire business community was in trouble and we too as a bank dealing with business only was also among them.”

He said that a well-managed strategy was in place since the Covid-19 outbreak and the operation team whether it was on cluster level, branch level or divisional level implemented it well which yielded fruitful results.

Chhibber also said that since the pandemic was main issue in running daily operations, a quick response team was constituted and they were meeting daily to discuss how to move forward and runover business units.

Replying to a query on J&K Bank’s digital Banking assistance to customers, he said that the Bank is quite proactive in terms of digital banking, that is the reason J&K Bank was awarded for having the best digital banking system among all private banks.

“Digital banking assistance to customers is the outcome of contribution of J&K Bank’s IT team that is why we are in a  position to show better results when it comes to digital banking,” he added.

Replying to a query that J&K Bank has been always criticised when it comes to the recruitment process, he said that the recruitment process in J&K Bank is quite transparent and the first time in J&K Bank history, candidates have conveyed their papers and interview scores digitally and they were satisfied.

On being asked about recent robbery attempts in some of the J&K Bank branches, he said that they have already started the process of recruiting security officers and within 15 days, they will take over on the security aspects.

“Efficient and trained people have been appointed to recruit security officers and their main role will be the coordination with local administration especially with security agencies,” he added.(KNS)
