Webinar on Constitutional Framework at CLUJ


 
Srinagr November 26:(KNS) Department of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu organised an online Webinar to commemmorate Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) under the patronship of Prof.Manoj Dhar, Hon'ble VIce Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu. Dr. Sunita Zalpuri Kaul , Dean Trainee Welfare, Professor and Head Centre for good Governance in Administrative Reforms J&K IMPARD, Jammu was the Resource Person for the webinar. The Webinar started with the reading of Preamble of the Constitution to the faculty and students by Prof. Bhopinder Singh , Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ who was the Chairperson at the event.More than 100 students , also Deans of Faculties, Coordinators and teaching fraternity from PGI Schools of CLUJ participated in the webinar. Dr. Sunita Kaul deliberated upon the topic “Constitutional Framework in India : An overview with special focus on fundamental duties". She dwelt at length about the strength and tenacity of the Indian Constitution and the basic fundamental duties enshrined it to ensure  free, fair and equal governance to all its citizens irrespective of their caste, religion, gender and financial status. She enumerated the process of how the constitution came into its present form by incorporating various tenets and qualities influenced from other democratic nations. She exhorted the students to imbibe the Constitutional Framework which guarantees a socialist, sovereign and secular democracy
Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare CLUJ formally welcomed the participants and stressed upon the imperativeness to celebrate the Constitution Day  as it would educate the young learners to keep aware of values that our predecessors wanted to instill in us. She also highlighted the pivotal role played by Dr. B.R Ambedkar in drafting the Indian Constitution. The deliberation was followed by an interactive session.Assistant Deans, Dr.Geetanjli Rajput, Prof.Shamim Rather, Dr. Maansi Sharma, Dr. Davinder Kour, Prof. Sudesh Kumar attended the webinar. Dr. Revika Arora, Cutural Coordinator CLUJ moderated the proceedings of the webinar while Dr. Banpreet Kour Associate Dean, CLUJ gave a  formal vote of thanks.(KNS)
