Jammu April 30 (KNS): Former Deputy Chief Minister and Working President of J&K Congress, Tarachand hailed the decision of Central Government to announce caste based census in the Country and termed it a Victory of Congress struggle for social Justice led by its leader of Opposition Sh Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
In a Statement issued here today, he said that the government in Centre has recognized the strong vision of Rahul Gandhi Ji who has been struggling for this for years. In every election congress party promised this issue while drafting it's election Manifesto and Congress implemented this after came in Power in Telangana state and started census on caste based.
It is an X-ray needed for new paradigm and development in Country. He added that conducting caste census is only a primary step and the details that emerge from it will form the backbone of further developmental exercises. He also emphasized that the Centre must study the Telangana model of conducting the caste census and should implement the idea on those lines.
Tarachand said that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi allways raised the issue of caste census on every platform, This is his vision and at the last government accepted it, So we thank them and demand that the government should implement it immediately.(KNS)
