Pays tributes to Ghulam Nabi Mir

Srinagar, Jan 19 (KNS): Ghulam Nabi Mir (Former Office Superintendent) of Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir passed away on 18 January, 2016 at his residence Sanat Nagar here.
He was suffering from multiple ailments and was on rest from couple of months. As his news of death spread, Jama’at central leadership and other activists visited Sanat Nagar and offer condolences with the bereaved family.
Later deceased body was taken to Chitragam, Shopian for the last rites where the funeral prayer was led by Moulana Shahzada Aurangzeb Nadvi (Ameer Zila Shpoian) while Dr. Abdul Hameed Fayaz (Public Relation head) described the philosophy of death under the teachings of Islam before funeral prayers.
Prominent dignitaries of Jama’at attended his funeral prayers and paid glorious tributes to the deceased.
While paying condolences to the deceased, several district presidents (Ameer-e-Zila) along with other office bearers visited Shopian today and expressed sympathy with the family of the deceased.
They shed light on the sacrifices rendered by Ghulam Nabi Mir and prayed to Allah for Jananat-ul-Firdous for the deceased.

Even in 90’s Ghulam Nabi Mir faced the wrath of government forces and agencies because of his attachment with Jama’at”, Speakers said.
“He was a committed man and never showed his back. He served Jama’at from Unit (halqa) to Central (markaz) level and was active in every front”, one of the speaker while paying tributes to the deceased.
Meanwhile Ameer-e-Jama’at Ghulam Muhammad Bhat also visited Sanat Nagar yesterday and paid sympathy with the family of Ghulam Nabi Mir and also prayed for the deceased.
In his message, Ameer-e-Jama’at Ghulam Muhammad Bhat said “we have lost an activist, an ardent member and well wisher of humanity, May Allah grant highest place of Jannat to Ghulam Nabi Mir”. Also a condolence meet was held under the chair of Muhammad Ibrahim Dar (Office Superintendent) at Markaz-e-Jama’at Batamaloo, in which members recall the sacrifices of Mir Sahib and prayed for the departed soul.
