While paying tributes to martyrs of Shaheedpora Kulgam, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah today lauded the role of local party representatives and members for "keeping alive the spirit of freedom movement by organizing programs in memories of martyrs.”
In a statement to KNS a spokesman of the party said the program was organized in memory of martyrs of Shaheedpora, Kulgam in south Kashmir. “The martyrs included Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Sheikh, Shaheed Sajad Ahmad, Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Sheikh (Anwar Ali), Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf (Abu Fazil), Shaheed Dildaar Ahmad (Zahid), Shaheed Sheikh Asif ul Islam (Abu Muslim Jaraar), Shaheed Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim (Salman) and Shaheed Shabir Ahmad Sheikh (Amir).In this connection, on the directions of DFP chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah, party members including Ghazi Manzoor Ahmad, Engineer Farooq Ahmad Khan, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad,Muhammad Akbar Khan, Rafi Hussain Pampori, Obaid Ahmad, Aarif Ahmad Master Mohiuddin, Niyaz Ahmad and Aashiq Hussain participated in the Majlis,” he said?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
On the occasion, Manzoor Ahmad Ghazi addressed the public gathering where he reiterated that "we're indebted to the sacrifices of martyrs and their families." He said “we’ll continue to pursue the mission of martyrs till our last breath.”
Giving the message of Shabir Ahmad Shah to families of martyrs, Ghazi told people that we’re committed to the mission of martyrs and cannot even think of forgetting them, for a while. He lashed out at state administration over placing Shabir Ahmad Shah under continuous put house arrest. He said despite using “repressive and suppressive measures against the people, the movement will continue with full zeal and vigour.”
“Those who are weak in their stand resort to such measures of curbing the right to freedom of speech and expression,” he said while lauding the people of the area for keeping the memories 0f martyrs alive through such programs.
