Srinagar, May 7 (KNS): Revenue and Rehabilitation minister Syed Basharat Bukhari Saturday said that the revenue department has no proposal to issue land for constructing Sainik colonies in the Valley for retired army soldiers.
“There is no such proposal with the Revenue department to allot land for Sainik colony,” Bukhari told KNS.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad also said that the administration in Budgam has not such consideration.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“There is no such consideration at present neither do we have any such land available for this. We are already in deficit of land,” Ahmad told KNS.
Sainik colony controversy erupted after reports about the government orders to deputy commissioners of Srinagar and Budgam to identify land for the colony for retired service-men.
The mover has been opposed by mainstream, separatists and civil society in Kashmir. (KNS)?
