Srinagar, Sep 25 (KNS): All J&K Patwar Association (AJKPA) Kashmir Province Saturday refuted the news report that Patwaris have been assigned job to collect data about Masjids and Imams.
In a joint statement issued by senior state president Sajad Sidiqi and provincial president Fayaz Ahmad Baba, they said: “We are government employees and have got a defined job of keeping revenue records and updating them and serving the public in this regard.”
“Statements regarding the religious structures including Masjids, temples, Gurdwaras, shrines etcetera are routine matter which has been submitted previously many times to the extent of survey numbers in which they exist, area of land, category of land, proprietary, kahcharie or state, whether under Auqaf or not but nothing about Imams, tarana and committees,” they added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“By no ways and by no means we can act against our society. We are the part and parcel of the society,” they added.
“We retrieve that patwaris are public servants and are inseparable part of this society and can be in no way indifferent to it,” they said. (KNS)
