Residents appeal PHE dept to redress their grievances

Anantnag, Jan 17 (KNS): Accusing the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department of ignoring their plights, the residents of Bathuna Larkipora villages here have demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.
According to KNS correspondent, Hussain Babu, the inhabitants of Bathuna Larkipora villages and other adjoining villages alleged that they face tremendous hardships due to an acute shortage of water supply from last five Years.
Villagers said that they staged protests several times against the authorities to press them over their demands but unfortunately that too went into deaf ears.
Miffed over the 'callous' attitude of the PHE department, the villagers of Bathuna Larkipora and other adjoining villages urged the authorities to look into the matter or face agitation. “In case the authorities fail to fulfill our demands, we will come on streets to protest against the failures of the department,” the residents said.
Ghulam Muhammad, one among the residents of Bathuna said, “We are being deprived of water facility and despite repeated requests neither the concerned department nor the administration bothered to redress our grievances.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
He according to KNS correspondent said that they were without drinking water for past five years and they are forced to consume filthy water of nearby Nallah’s.
Inhabitants later appealed higher ups in the PHE department to ensure proper and immediate water supply to the area so that they could feel a sigh of relief.
They said, “We are forced to cover a distance of almost a kilometer to fetch drinking water from tube wells for cooking and drinking. We will be forced to intensify protests in case the authorities fail to restore the water supply at the earliest,” he added.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Brinty village of Dialgam area here also complained of water scarcity and urged authorities to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest. (KNS)
