‘Authorities ignore us at all fronts’

Srinagar, Feb 23 (KNS): Accusing the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) for ignoring their plights, the residents of Abu Bakar Colony area of Naik Bagh Srinagar here have demanded immediate redressal of their genuine demands.
The residents said that from past several weeks, the area is inundated with the muddy that caused following the rainfall and snowfall in the Valley. “We approached the higher ups several times but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard,” they said, adding that the officials appointed for the redressal have also not receiving their phone calls.
They said that the authorities have failed failing to dewater their area since long.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“We are facing tremendous hardships due to the water logging in the area while the authorities concerned are watching as mute spectators with taking no action over it,” they said.
Inhabitants of the areas said that the official apathy is forcing them to take the streets against the SMC. “We appeal to the higher ups to look into the matter and fulfill their genuine demands at earliest,” they said.
Despite repeated attempts Mufti Aabdi, a senior SMC official couldn’t be contacted for the comments as he didn’t receive the calls. (KNS)
