Srinagar, Jan 31 (KNS): A day after six shops and four houses were gutted in the incident at Waniyar area of Safa Kadal on old city, locals blamed fire services for delay and massive blaze.
Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, Congress leader from the area told KNS that the fire service station at Waniyar could not reach the spot on time to douse the blaze.
“Fire tenders from Chattabal reached the spot and helped to douse the massive flames.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBut shockingly the fire service from Waniyar did not reach here,” Khan said.
The fire had engulfed the area around 7.30 pm from a house at Waniyar area of Safa Kadal and engulfed adjoining nine structures.
However, a fire service official said that the fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames and save the locality. (KNS)
